...traditions
Since monday, the carnival has been winding down. In Iceland Monday was Bolludagur (Bunday), Tuesday was Sprengidagur, and today is Öskudagur. When you are away, one realizes how much traditions means. Here is Norway they know all these days, except Bolludagur, Fastelavns was on sunday, and hardly any one does anything on Tuesday or Wednesday. B says he doesn't care since these are Christian holidays. I don't care where they come from, they are fun. On Bolludagur in Iceland everyone eats Bollur (buns), and they have those here just not the ones I like the best, so I decided to make some.  I made the batter and baked them before going to the cinema yesterday and then put the chocolate on top when I got back. Monday night I had fishballs and then had some bollur for desert, and it was like I was home. My favorite is the meat on Sprengidagur, when you are supposed to eat until you blow. But I can't be bothered to hunt for a butcher that sells it, here is Oslo, also, the cooking is quite time consuming, but I feel a bit sad missing it. To make up for that disapointment I decided to dress up for today Öskudagur, traditionally it is like carnival or halloween. But since i was going to class i made do with a hairdo and some makeup. People kept looking at me not knowing what to think, but I did not care, Norwegians are sometimes way to serious so it is good for them to see crazy people occasionally :)
Mostly Norwegians are to busy celebrating their kings 70th Birthday, if you are in Norway now, there is no way to miss the fact the king has a birthday. There are LIVE broadcasts from the palace, unveiling of the birthday gift, the party, the ball etc, there are flags and ribbons all over town. Silly, but for the ball my president is coming to town but since he isn't a Royal, there is no room in the palace for him so he has to stay at a hotel with the Finish president. This has been somewhat of a scandal here , but hardly mentioned in the press back home.I am feeling:  silly |

en ég skil ekki af hverju það koma alltaf fullt af póstum í einu, ég var bara að sjá þennan (og þann næsta á undn) núna.

Það er einfaldlega af því ég er að vinna upp bloggpásu, ég er bæði að skrifa upp gamalt og pósta það sem ég hef geymt á tölvunni og ekki nennt að henda á netið.
þú ert svo mikil dúlla :o)
